PVC tubes used for water supply were selected among those commonly available products on the general market
for analysis of possible leaching of vinylchloride monomer (VCM) into drinking water. No detectable levels of vinyl chloride monomer could be analytically detected in the drinking water. Therefore, the study concludes that
PVC pipes make no significant contribution to VCM exposure. It can be excluded that the proposed limit of migration
of 0.5 ppt (part per trillion) of VCM into drinking water would be exceeded.
